THE FITNESS FORMULA
Chapter 1: Goal Check...and Grammar Police
Hello! I’m Matty and welcome to my first blog. I’ve been toying with the idea of writing blogs for quite some time now and with the help of my grammar police partner Jolene, I’m finally here to try it out.
Firstly, I’m a Personal Trainer and manage The Shed Gym in Clogher, Co.Tyrone. I’ve been active in the fitness industry for 5+ years with qualifications leading back as far as 10 years (yikes). I’m a lover of all things sport orientated; my two biggest sports being football and football, or soccer and Gaelic - whatever way you prefer to call them.
I play for Dergview FC, playing in the Championship league of Northern Ireland, and for An Clogher Eire Ogs, a Tyrone based side playing intermediate football.
My aims for this blog are to bring some useful tips on all things fitness, well-being and lifestyle orientated. I’ll use the knowledge and experience I’ve gained over the years to try to help you become a little more informed - all feedback is welcome and encouraged!
As for goal checking, starting a blog is on my 2019 to do list, so we’ll see how the next few entries go before I’ll tick it off.
Now ask yourself, how are your 2019 goals going? Have you started yet? Have you reached some of them? Are you re-evaluating? Or maybe you’ve just forgotten all about them? Any or all of these answers are perfectly OK - it’s never too late! Normally, the old saying is.. “I can never get time” or “I’d love to do it but...” - the truth is they’re ALL excuses. Day 1 starts today! Go on, get a pen and piece of paper, or if you’re like me it’ll be your notebook on your phone... write down your short term (weekly), mid term (monthly), and long term (yearly) plus goals. 5 minutes is all it takes.
I’ll leave you with this;
"The trouble with not having a goal is that you can spend your life running up and down the field and never score." – Bill Copeland
